Why QūB?
½” vs. ¾” Plywood
The first, and likely most notable difference, is the ½” Baltic Birch plywood QūB Fitness uses vs. most competitors using a ¾” plywood. Using a ½” plywood makes the QūB Fitness box considerably lighter vs. the competition giving us a significant advantage. This, along with the handle position, makes our boxes easier to move around when setting up and cleaning up post workout.
The Schrūt 16x20x24 is 26 lbs vs. most competition ¾” plywood boxes range from 35-40 lbs
The Grūt 20x24x30 is 40 lbs vs. most competition ¾” plywood boxes range from 55-60 lbs
Equivalent Weight Capacity vs. Others
Still unsure if ½” Baltic Birch is just as strong and durable as the ¾” boxes out there? Can it withstand the repetitive stress of a 200+ pound athlete’s jumping force? What about weighted step ups? The images below show 550 pounds of weight on top of The Schrūt and The Grūt boxes with no concerns. Over time, normal wear and tear (or as we like to call it “character”) will occur but you can feel confident that your QūB Fitness plyo box will last because Baltic Birch is less prone to chipping or sanding damage compared to other plywood.
